Leaders receive their Wood Badge

19 November 2017

The Wood Badge symbolised by two wooden beads worn on a leather cord around the neck is awarded to leaders who have completed the adult training for their role in Scouting.  Gaining the Wood Badge involves completing many training modules and requires a strong commitment over a long period of time.  Beaver Scout Leader Karen Lowson and Cub Scout Leader Adrian Ainsworth have completed their training in just one year and were recently presented with their certificate and beads.  As Wood Badge holders leaders automatically become members of the 1st Gilwell Park Scout Group and are entitled to wear the Gilwell Scarf and Woggle.  Mel, Karen and Adrian were presented with Gilwell Scarves and Woggles at the Carol Campfire.

Many congratulations and thanks for their commitment and service to our Scout Group.
